no time

Ok I have decided that I am a horrible blogger. I know everyone already knows this, but I am just awful. But I have decided that I have an excuse for my poor blogging behavior. I have figured out that I don't have access to a computer at work, so when I get home and get on the Internet, I have so much to look at and check that my blog gets put on the back burner. If I could look at everything while I was at work, I would have all of my home Internet time to blog. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it!

So onto wedding stuff. There has been so much going on I don't even know where to start. I had my bridal shower last weekend and it was amazing. Everything was so cute and fun! There are some pictures on Brandi's blog and you should check them out if you haven't already.

Currently I have been trying to get in touch with the church coordinator to get issues with the church worked out. I have called this lady like 10 times and I have yet to have any success. I found out that the church doesn't allow isle runners and I am not sure what else they do and do not allow, hence my efforts to reach the coordinator. I have decided that it is a pet peeve of mine when people don't return your calls. UGGG!!!!

On other news, Christopher and I have been looking into honeymoons and we have been finding out that you don't necessarily need a passport to go on a cruise. It said that if you leave and arrive back in the same US city that you do not need a passport. I tried calling Carnival and was unable to find out any more, but it is a possibility that might be going on a cruise! If anyone knows more about this topic I would love to hear about it.

There is so much more going on and so much left to do so wish us luck!

47 DAYS!!!

So we are 47 days away from the big day! There is still so much to do but I am getting really excited! We have been working on a lot of stuff but there is still so much to do. Christopher and I worked this weekend on the centerpieces. We got a lot of them done, but we still have about 20 to go. This week is going to be a pretty crazy week, I have a lot of things to do before I leave on Sunday for Cristi's wedding. I can't believe that she is getting married in less than 2 weeks. Time just flies by when weddings are coming up. Speaking of weddings, I have another bridesmaid that is getting married!!!!! I am so excited for her and I can't wait for my wedding to be over so I can start helping her plan hers. I am not going to give away too many details because I am not sure how public this knowledge is, it is not facebook official yet so I will leave more details for later!

I am taking my bridal pictures this week and I am super nervous. I still haven't decided on my hair or make-up. I have a couple of ideas but I just haven't found something that I just love. I also still have to get my nails done, pick up my dress, get some ribbon, buy an old pin, and so much. Wish me luck, I hope I look pretty!

I started to think about program ideas and I am thinking super simple, card stock with ribbon folded in half. I will put a picture on here whenever I complete one.

I am leaving this Sunday for another one of my bridesmaid weddings. I am so excited about just getting away and not worrying about work or wedding stuff..... or basically anything!

Well every one's invitations should be coming within the next couple of weeks. I can't wait for everyone to see them and RSVP!

Well that's all the news for today, hope everyone has a good week!

My apologies

I realize that I am a horrible blogger and for that I apologize! The wedding is approaching and there are still so many things to get done. I made a check list the other day and now I need to prioritize and get some important stuff taken care of. One of those things is Christopher's wedding ring. I still haven't gotten his ring and I need to get it, have it sized, and have it engraved. Speaking of jewelry, I have purchased my bridal jewelry and I love it. It should be coming in within the next couple of days.

I also bought my shoes. They were not quite what I had originally thought of, but they are going to be perfect. The guys are going to be dressed in brown and the girls in yellow and the shoes have both of these.

I am meeting with the dress lady that is altering my dress this Friday. I am SO excited! The last time we went the dress was completely different and it should be even more different this time. I cannot wait to get my dress finished and take my bridal pictures.

I am still working on invitations and lots more stuff. 67 days!

my life

So due to Robert's request I am finally going to update my blog. I have been up to my eyes in stress so I haven't had a whole lot of time to blog. But I am taking the time today to get back to my blag community and give yall some insight of what is going on in my life and with the wedding.

So most of you know that me and Christopher have been looking for a new house. We have decided that it is pointless to keep pouring money into a rent house. Well the house hunt is becoming another stress in my already stressful life. All of the houses that we actually like are way out of our price range. Finding a house that fits our price range and our qualifications is proving to be more challenging than I had imagined.

On the wedding front, I have completed many more projects. My sister and I finished all of the bridesmaid bouquets and we also finished all of the boutonnieres. The turned out so cute!!
Last weekend, my mom, Christopher's mom, my aunt Tammi, Kylie, Megan, Heather and I went over to my parent's house to work on my invitations. We got 100 of them almost fully completed and we finished cutting out the brown, yellow and vellum for all of the rest of them. They are just so freaking cute so I had to show you a finished one.
I realized I never showed yall a picture of the centerpieces we worked on several weeks ago. I didn't have a small votive like the ones we are using so I had to use this big candle that caused there to be some curving lines on the pictures. Those will be less visible with a more suitable candle. But I still wanted to give you the idea of what they will look like.

Busy Bee

I have been a very busy bee lately working on wedding stuff. Last Friday I went to a florist to talk about my bridal bouquet. It was less than impressive to say the least. Kylie, Megan and myself went to together and met with the owner of the shop. We sat at this table that was covered with crap. She didn't have anything to show me or talk to me about. She was awkward and unprepared. I am definitely not interested in doing business with her. So I am on the look out for another florist. Christopher told me that his parents met with some people who knew someone that was amazing so I guess we will go from there.

Christopher and I met with the baker at Market Street yesterday to talk about cakes. We tasted a couple of different cakes and they were delicious! Christopher's dad works with the baker and they are good friends. He was so nice and told us that because of the respect and friendship he has with Christopher's dad he is really going to do whatever he can for us at the best possible price. Now I just need to decide on what kind of cake I want and what I want it to look like. Christopher liked the cream cheese and butter cream frosting mix and so did I so I think that is what we are going to use for the frosting. We tried the white, chocolate, and Italian cake and they were all fantastic. I can't decide if I want different flavors for each tier or just one type through out. I thought the different layers would be neat but after discussing it with Christopher we though that people might come get 3 or 4 slices to try all of the different flavors and that would be a lot of cake. So I am no sure what we should do? Any suggestions?

So here are a few of cakes that I like that I have found online (keep in mind that the colors are not correct). What's your favorite?

Progress!

Well this weekend was a lot of wedding progress. While my dad and Christopher departed to Vegas, my mom and I got busy getting wedding stuff done! The boys left on Saturday and my mom and I worked on the save the dates. They came in on Friday or Saturday so we worked hard so we could get them mailed. They really turned out fantastic!!! And they were super cheap. Christopher found this website that does publication work at the fraction of the price of most other companies. Everything is practically free! We got 500 save the dates for less than $40. Amazing. We got a final guest list put together (minus a couple missing addresses) and got the save the dates addressed so we could mail them today.

Sunday we worked on the centerpieces. We are using 4x6 wooden frames with vellum pictures of Christopher and I. We are putting three of them together in a triangle with a votive in the middle that makes the photos glow. They are stunning. I am so impressed with how they came out. Neither my mom or myself had our cameras because the boys took them, so I will get some pictures when they get back and show yall how awesome they are. We put 40 of them together (so 120 frames) and it was pretty easy. My aunt Tammi was there to help us put them together as well. She is amazing!!!!! I appreciate her help so much and I love her to death! Both my mom and Aunt Tammi think we should do more frames because the tables seat 4 and they think there should be a centerpiece on every table. I am not sure that we should do 60 more because I don't know if we necessarily need to have all of the tables covered because there are so many of them. I think 20 more would be good. What do yall think? 20 or 60 or something in between?

It was such a productive weekend. I know that my mom probably wouldn't have preferred to spend every minute of her weekend working on wedding stuff, but I am so glad she did. I had so much fun with her and my aunt Tammi and I am so glad that we got so many things done.

Time for some rethinking

So a couple of weeks ago my mom, Chris' mom, and myself made a trip to Amarillo to try on my dress for the first time. I guess all that I can say about that is that it was disappointing. Long story short is that the dress that I have is not the dress that I thought I was going to get. So there are going to have to be some alterations made to the dress. The bridal store told me that they would call with a quote and have yet to do so. So I think I have decided to just get my dress and have it altered here in town so it will be easier. Along with the dress not being perfect, the shoes were a definate NO. The color really clashed with the dress and now I really have to reconsider my wedding shoes. I have decided to go with yellow flats, but because of the season it is pretty hard to find yellow shoes. I am sure more will come out when the spring and summer things start coming into stores. I will just have to wait patiently.

Today my sister and I worked on my card box. It turned out so cute!!! You can see it at her blog here. One more thing done!!!

I also went to the reception site this weekend and talked to the owner. We got a lot of stuff figured out but we also got some bad news. We will not be able to actually get into the building until the dau of the wedding. So we will have to get everything done and setup on Saturday. That is going to be a big time crunch but somehow we will get it all done.

I am meeting with my mom this weekend while my dad and Christopher are in Vegas and we are going to get some wedding stuff done.

SHOES!!!

So I have already told yall that my first dress fitting is this Friday. When I called and made the appointment they told me that I needed to have everything with me when I came to the appointment, ie. shoes, bra, petticoat and things of the sort. Well I already have my boots but I don't want to wear boots to the church ceremony. So my mom and I went shopping this evening for wedding shoes! I also got a bra that will work perfectly with my dress.

The shopping was not one of the most enjoyable experiences although. My mom and I went to JCPenny's to start with and every time we stepped through the doors the buzzer went off. We went to Dillard's to find shoes and I found mine and the computers weren't working. So we had to leave Dillard's without shoes. My mom is going to pick them up tomorrow though so all is well!

Fun Stuff!

So a lot has been happening lately! Last night Christopher and I went to my parents house for dinner. We discussed a lot of things and got some more decisions made. We decided on the paper color for the wedding invitations. It is a really pretty golden yellow that is going to be really pretty! We also ordered the eyelets that we are using to secure the invitation together. They are super cute, they are horseshoe eyelets! We also ordered the candy for the candy bar. I found some pretty cool candy in yellow and brown that will look really pretty in some fun containers. So we got some stuff done, and enjoyed dinner in the same evening!

So I got a call last week from the store that I ordered my dress from and they said that my dress came in! I am so excited. They suggested not coming in to get fitted until 6-8 weeks before the wedding, but I want to do bridal pictures and some major alterations to the dress so I wanted to go in a little earlier. So my mom and I and hopefully Christopher's mom are going for the first fitting this Friday. I haven't seen the dress in so long, I can't wait to see it again and know that it is mine.

So many things all coming together! I am getting pretty excited!

so much to do

So I have been talking to my mom and sister lately and we have decided that there is so much to do! We are meeting tomorrow to work on several things. One thing is the invitation. I found an invitation that I liked in Brides and we are going to try to customize it to fit me wedding and needs.

We have also been discussing a candy bar. My mom really wants for us to do a candy bar with a variety of different candy.
My mom also found these place card holders that will be adorable for reserving the tables for the wedding party and the families. Super cute!!!!

I'm Back

Sorry that I have been so absent in my blogging but I have been super busy. Christmas was phenomenal! It was no nice to spend quality time with my family and my future husband's family as well. This was the first year I have spent Christmas with both my own family and Christopher's as well and I really had an amazing time. For New Years this year Christoper, the dogs and I did nothing. We just watched a movie, gave each other and the dogs a kiss at midnight and were asleep by 12:30. I would say that it was a very uneventful but really good!

So the holidays are over and on the 2nd I started my new job at Market Street. I am working in the pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. I am using this experience to get an idea if pharmacy is the right career path. So far it is not looking promising. My first day was a 12 hour day and it was rough. I have always worked at a bank and banks aren't even open 12 hours a day (not to mention that I took a $5/hour pay cut). So tomorrow is my week mark at the new job and I am working another 12 hour day. So all this to say that I have already started to look for another job. I want to find something that better utilizes my abilities and is more intellectually challenging and exciting.

Back to wedding details.... my sister and my dad bought boots yesterday for my wedding. I am super excited! I have so much to do and it is really starting to give me anxiety but I am excited!
